Candle - Porcelain
Porcelain pot thrown on the wheel. Bisque fired once when dry, signed, waxed and coated in a glossy transparent glaze. The piece is then placed back in the kiln for its final 1240 degree centigrade glaze firing.
A wick is placed in the pot and hot wax poured into the pot by hand in Paige's kitchen.
The wax use in this candle is pure beeswax.
The porcelain is thrown thinly and will have a lovely glow as the candle burns down.
When burning keep the wicks cut short to avoid a large thick flame and soot production. On your first burning please allow the top of the candle to fully melt or you may experience what is called 'tunneling'.
Approximately 50 hours of burn time.
The pot can be reused once the candle is finished. Remove the base of the wick and warm the pot with boiling water and wipe excess wax with kitchen roll. The pot is dishwasher and microwave safe though discouraged for longevity.
Approximately 9.5cm wide x 9.5cm tall
